Intense competition continues to build in the market for retailers providing grocery and pharmacy services, raising the bar for competition among conventional grocery chains. In an environment with more competition than ever, discount prescription programs allow grocers to advance against the competition, increase store traffic and provide customers with an appealing incentive to save money, time and live healthier lives for all members of the family.
Paramount Rx provides discounts for prescriptions for the entire family, including pets. Approximately half of all pet prescriptions can be filled at local pharmacies, including the most common pet medications. Recently, Paramount Rx launched the Help A Pet Rx and Save a Pet Rx prescription benefit card programs, allowing customers to save on prescriptions for their families and pets while contributing to the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®).
Grocers are among the many customers finding the results compelling, for their business and for their customers. Paramount Rx teamed up with one of the nation’s largest grocery retailers to integrate Paramount’s Pet Savings Program into its 798 in-store pharmacy locations. So far, more than 100,000 pet prescriptions have been filled, and customers have saved more than $1.3 million. The program offers discount prices on pet medications, providing a one-stop shop solution for customers looking to save money while maintaining their pets’ health. As a result of the implementation of the Pet Savings Program, the grocer chain cites a significant increase in store traffic.
In addition, Lunds and Byerly’s, a Minnesota-based, family-owned grocer, is providing a Pet Savings Program for Paramount Rx discount pet medications at its 14 in-store pharmacies, driving higher store traffic and providing a one-stop solution for customers to save money while keeping their pets healthy.
